ABOUT ME
My name is Sheridan Turton, an illustrator from the U.S. and Taiwan, and currently based in Taiwan. I primarily illustrate picture books, with my first published book in 2017. In addition, I also work on book and album covers, editorials, product designs, and merchandise. My artistic style can be described as children’s style illustration in digital pencil or ink with watercolor.
My passion for drawing started in childhood. I used to draw my own stories and comics in blank notebooks, and scribbled all over my textbooks in elementary school. I started working on commissioned illustrations back when I was studying for a Master’s in Social Work. Since then, I’ve had the wonderful opportunity to work with various clients, publishers, and organizations.

My artistic style was influenced by picture books I read growing up, such as the works of Richard Scarry or Mercer Mayor. Other books I enjoyed include Where’s Wally, The Library by Sarah Stewart, and When I’m Big by Debi Gliori. Peanuts, Calvin and Hobbes, Garfield, and Tintin are comics I love as well. Diving into the fantastical world that all these books offer is one of my favorite aspects about reading them. I hope to do the same for the books that I illustrate, to bring stories to life and allow readers to transport themselves into those worlds.
During my free time, I still love to draw and experiment with different artistic styles. (You can find most of these drawings on my Instagram account.) Other interests that I like are reading, learning other languages (currently focusing on French and Dutch), baking, playing the guitar, and visiting museums.
